L'Analyse

Practicality

The F-150 Lightning is the most practical electric truck — 5.5 ft bed, 2,000 lbs payload, Pro Power Onboard that can power your house during an outage (9.6 kW!), and the Mega Power Frunk that fits golf bags, toolboxes, and coolers. It is a real work truck that happens to be electric. Rivian's 4.5 ft bed and camp kitchen are adventure-cute but less useful for actual hauling. Tesla's 6 ft bed is great but no frunk.

Off-Road

The Rivian R1T is the off-road champion. Quad-motor torque vectoring, tank turn capability (spin in place), adjustable air suspension with 14.9 inches of ground clearance, and genuine trail-rated capability. The Cybertruck handles rough terrain well but its massive size limits tight trail access. The F-150 Lightning is a highway truck that can handle gravel roads.

Range

Rivian's Max Pack battery pushes past 400 miles — the longest range of any electric truck. The F-150 Lightning Extended Range manages 320 miles. The Cybertruck Cyberbeast gets 320 miles but towing cuts that dramatically. All electric trucks lose 30-50% range while towing, making Rivian's advantage even more important for hauling.

Towing

All three are within 1,000 lbs of each other at 10,000-11,000 lbs max. The real differentiator is range under towing load — where Rivian's larger battery wins. The F-150 Lightning's extensive dealer network makes cross-country towing trips less stressful. Tesla's Supercharger network is the fastest but Cybertruck's consumption while towing is concerning.

Tech

The Tesla Cybertruck is the most technologically advanced vehicle here — stainless steel exoskeleton, steer-by-wire, powered tonneau cover, and Tesla's industry-leading Autopilot/FSD system. The Rivian has an excellent software experience and OTA updates. The F-150 Lightning uses Ford's SYNC 4 which is functional but dated compared to both rivals.

Value

The Ford F-150 Lightning at $52,000 is dramatically cheaper than both competitors — $18,000 less than Rivian and $28,000 less than Tesla Cyberbeast. Ford's dealer network means servicing anywhere in America. Parts are affordable and available. Rivian and Tesla require specialized service. For a work truck buyer, Ford's value proposition is overwhelming.

Le Verdict

Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford F-150 Lightning is the electric truck for people who actually use trucks.

The Ford F-150 Lightning wins because it respects what a truck is supposed to do. It hauls. It tows. It powers your jobsite. It can literally power your house during a blackout. The Pro Power Onboard system delivering 9.6 kW from the bed outlets is genuinely revolutionary for contractors, farmers, and anyone who works out of their truck.\n\nAt $52,000, it costs $18,000 less than the Rivian and $28,000 less than the Cybertruck. Ford has 3,000+ dealers nationwide for service, parts that are affordable and available, and a truck that looks and functions like the F-150 that America has trusted for 48 consecutive years as the best-selling vehicle. The Cybertruck is a tech statement. The Rivian is an adventure vehicle. The Lightning is a truck.

Mais considérez :Consider the Rivian R1T if off-road adventure is your lifestyle — quad-motor tank turns, 400+ mile range, and the camp kitchen make it the most capable trail truck ever built.
