Picture Quality

The Samsung S95D and Sony A95L share QD-OLED technology, delivering brighter colors and better peak brightness than the LG C4. Both are stunning. The LG C4 uses standard WOLED — still gorgeous, but the QD-OLED panels edge ahead in color volume and brightness.

HDR

Samsung leads in HDR brightness, hitting peaks that make specular highlights pop. The S95D anti-glare coating also helps in bright rooms. Sony matches it closely with excellent tone mapping. The LG C4 is strong but cannot quite reach the same brightness levels.

Gaming

The LG C4 is the gamer favorite. Four full HDMI 2.1 ports, excellent low input lag, Dolby Vision gaming, and robust VRR support. The Samsung S95D adds 4K 144Hz support. Sony lags with only two full-bandwidth HDMI ports and higher input lag.

Smart Features

LG webOS is intuitive and app-rich. Samsung Tizen is clean but ad-heavy. Sony Google TV offers the widest app selection and best voice assistant integration. All three are competent, but LG and Samsung feel slightly more polished for daily use.

Value

This is where LG dominates. The C4 at $1,296 is literally half the price of its rivals. You sacrifice some peak brightness and color volume, but the picture quality is still phenomenal. The Samsung and Sony at $2,500+ are better TVs, but not twice as good.

The LG C4 OLED wins this Truel because value matters. At $1,296, it delivers stunning OLED picture quality, the best gaming feature set in the business, and a polished smart TV experience. The Samsung S95D and Sony A95L are technically superior in picture quality, but the LG C4 closes the gap significantly while costing half as much. For most viewers, the difference is not worth an extra $1,300.
