A Análise

Range

The Rivian R1S crushes the competition with up to 410 miles on its Max battery — nearly 100 miles more than the BMW iX and Mercedes EQS SUV. In the EV world, range anxiety is real, and Rivian just eliminated it. The BMW and Mercedes cluster around 305-312 miles, which is fine but not class-leading.

Interior Luxury

The Mercedes EQS SUV is pure S-Class DNA transplanted into an electric SUV. The materials, ambient lighting, and Hyperscreen dashboard create an experience that neither Rivian nor BMW can match. The BMW iX has a polarizing but tech-forward cabin. The Rivian is comfortable and well-built but deliberately more casual and adventure-focused.

Off-Road Capability

This isn't even close. The Rivian R1S with its Quad-Motor setup, 14.9 inches of ground clearance, and dedicated off-road modes can handle trails that would destroy the BMW iX and Mercedes EQS SUV. Those two are luxury highway cruisers pretending to be SUVs. The Rivian is an actual SUV.

Value

The Rivian R1S starts at $74,900 — that's $12,200 less than the BMW iX and a staggering $29,500 less than the Mercedes EQS SUV. For that price difference, you get more range, more seats, more capability, and more towing capacity. The Mercedes is luxury for luxury's sake at this point.

Practicality

Seven seats and 410 miles of range make the R1S a genuine family SUV. The BMW iX only seats five, which immediately disqualifies it for larger families. The Mercedes offers optional three-row seating but can't tow worth a damn at only 3,500 lbs. The Rivian tows 7,700 lbs — more than double the Mercedes.

Rivian Built the Electric SUV That BMW and Mercedes Were Too Scared To

The Rivian R1S wins this fight because it's the only vehicle here that's actually designed to be an SUV. While BMW and Mercedes took luxury sedans and made them taller, Rivian built an electric truck platform that can seat seven, tow a boat, crawl over rocks, and still drive 410 miles on a single charge. At $74,900, it costs less than both European rivals while doing more than either of them. The legacy automakers are selling badges — Rivian is selling capability.

Mas considere:Consider the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV if interior luxury is your absolute top priority — nothing in the EV world matches its S-Class-level cabin refinement and ride comfort on highways.
